Too Good for Drugs & A Peaceable Place in Grade 1 builds a foundation forhealthy living through fun and interactivelearning of essential social skills including setting reachable goals, communicating effectively, and making responsible decisions. The program focuses on developing students character development skills and reinforces those skills through interactive, social activities.

This bundle of Too Good for Drugs and A Peaceable Place includes all three lesson units for Grade 1 including the core Self-efficacy and Interpersonal Skills Development Unit, Substance Use Prevention Unit, and Violence Prevention Unit in a single 15 lesson adaptation.

Carmen the Cool Cattakes the students on afun and engaging journey through learning and exploration. The students launch into the activitieswith one of Carmen's riddles as they learn the fundamentals of setting reachable goals by identifying what they want to learn to be able to do. In thelessons that follow, thestudents work to reach their goals through responsible decision making, identifyingfeelings, and effective communication. Students learn what it means to be a peace maker, celebrate differences, and solve problems.

Cooperative learning designs promote bonding through small group activities,song, and games.

Daily Workouts, Home Workouts, and cross-curricular activities follow each lesson so students can practice and apply the concepts developed in each lesson at home and with their peers.

This curriculumkit includes lesson activity materials for classrooms of up to 30students.
