You are the head of a family in an Italian city-state run by a weak and corrupt court. You need to manipulate,bluff, and bribe your way to power. Your object is to destroy other families influence, forcing them into exile.

When you play one of the character actionswhether actively or defensivelythat action automaticallysucceeds unless an opponent challenges you to reveal the character you used.

If you have the character in question and choose to reveal it, the opponent loses an influence. However, if youcant (or dont) reveal your character, you lose an influence and turn one of your characters face-up. If all yourcharacters are face-up, youre out of the game.

The last player to still have influencethat is, a face-down characterwins the game!
