Cubeb Berries, like Timut Peppercorns andSzechuan Peppercorns, get lumped into the peppercorn category because of the heat they deliver when ground. However, none are technically peppercorns! Cubeb Berries are the unripe fruits of a plant in the pepper family. They deliver a pleasantly bitter, pungent taste. It's a little like allspice and black pepper were combined.
