Warhammer 40K League - OWL Season 7

The cost of the league is $25, if you are a Full Member or higher at The Game Chamber use the code MEMBERDISCOUNT for 10% off.

That gets you a spot in either:

1) the normal division
2) the competitive division (the Ontario wide league or OWL)
3) the normal division plus the Competitive division (if you really want to play a lot of 40K games!).

Dont forget the OWL is only five games over around four months-one every 3 weeks. Signup deadline is August 30th, first rounds are due September 01, 2024.

Normal Division

These are semi competitive brackets for people that want to play more standard 2,000 point games then the Competitive Ontario Wide division. We will be using the Levithan GT missions. I try to make sure each bracket has a mix of xenos, chaos, marines and imperium. The top players in these brackets will then do a mini playoffs to determine top prizes (depending on # of players but likely top 8). Likely 5-10 games depending on number of players in the initial round and you schedule them with your opponent over Facebook. These games must be played at The Game Chambe, make sure you contact them ahead of time to book a table if you are looking to play at a busier time. Once your game is done one player needs to send the final score to me over Facebook. Each player then sends me the painting and sportsmanship scoresheet for their opponent, do not send them together. I will create a Facebook group for each bracket to help people arrange games and post updates every month or so to make sure the brackets are on track.

You must pick a faction, say Tyranids or blood angels and in each game your army must be from that faction, but can have allies as normal and your list can change game to game. All of the prize money will go towards best painted, sportsmanship and the top spots in the normal division (competitive division is handled separately) plus some random prizes which are only eligible if you play at least 3 games.

Each game will also be scored for painting and sportsmanship using the below and come with prizing.

Painting Score (average tournament army should likely be a 3)

1) Are the models based

2) Is the basing above average, thematic, scenic

3) Are the models primed

4) Are the models 3 colour tournament standard minimum

5) Are the models amazingly painted, way above average

Total out of 5

Sportsmanship score (average player is hopefully a 3 or a 4)

1) Opponent was on time and ready to play

2) Opponent was easy to arrange games with

3) Opponent was polite, nice and didn't argue every rule

4) Opponent was fun to play against and you would like to play them in the future

5) Opponent was the best person to play against and you would want to play them over anyone else you have played with

Competitive Division (Ontario Wide League-OWL)

This season the OWL will be run over Best Coast Parings (BCP) so you need to be able to download and use the app. There will shortly be a player pack for the OWL but no prizes are done for this at the local level in London. Its all for the honour of playing for team London at the RTT, which will have its own prizes-however a small portion of the entrance fee for the overall leagues will be held to support this. These games can be played anywhere that both players agree, whether it is at a store, someones house or even Tabletop simulator-however TTS will be a last resort. Send me the final score of the game. There is a Facebook group for this part of the league but its not mandatory to join-https://www.facebook.com/Ontario40kLeague. There is also a discord chat on that page which is also optional right now, if you do join it, post in the welcome section and say that you are representing London. The OWL uses the WTC FAQ and WTC terrain.
